Vapour-permeable paint
A paint layer is vapour-permeable when water vapour can escape while liquid water is kept out. This is particularly important for older homes, brick or concrete facades and rooms with higher humidity. Mineral paints, such as lime and silicate paint, are naturally highly vapour-permeable. Synthetic paints can offer this to some extent, but generally to a lesser degree. Ask a professional to assess whether the chosen paint is sufficiently vapour-permeable for your situation.
