Durable preparation as the foundation
A durable painting result begins with careful preparation. That is why all façade sections, window frames and other building components were fully covered in advance to optimally protect the home from paint splashes during the works.
Next, the entire exterior paintwork was thoroughly cleaned with a biodegradable cleaning agent to completely remove grease and atmospheric pollution. All surfaces were then carefully sanded, both by machine and by hand. Poor and loose paint layers were removed in places using a heat gun, so that only a sound and well-adhering surface remained.
Where necessary, wood repairs were carried out using the Window-Care wood repair system, the sealant was renewed or repaired in places, and putty was replaced. All woodwork was then given two coats of primer. Between the various treatments, the surfaces were lightly sanded again, thinly filled in places and carefully levelled for a smooth end result.
Careful finishing
After the primer coats, an undercoat was applied. All surfaces were then carefully polished, after which the entire exterior paintwork was finished with high-quality Sikkens paints on an alkyd resin base. This paint system is known for its excellent flow, durable protection and high resistance to the weather conditions that homes in the coastal area of The Hague are exposed to daily.

With characteristic homes, it is precisely the details that determine the appearance. Window frames with architraves, lambrequins, obelisks, pinnacles, cornices and crown mouldings and other wooden façade elements require craftsmanship, high-quality materials and a meticulous finish. It is precisely by paying close attention to the preparation, the choice of materials and the finishing that the character of the home is preserved and the woodwork is protected for the long term.
After completion of the works, the project was fully cleaned and delivered swept clean.
